On the afternoon of September 26, 2012, police were dispatched to a residential property in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles after reports of a disturbance. Officers arrived to find a scene investigators later described as violent and contained entirely within the property.
What Police Found Inside
Inside the home, Catherine Davis was found with severe injuries. She was still alive when first responders arrived and was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died. Police stated the injuries were extensive and consistent with a violent physical attack.
The Cat
Authorities also discovered Davis’ cat dead inside the residence. Police confirmed the animal had suffered physical trauma and stated the injuries were not accidental. Investigators treated the animal’s death as part of the same incident.
Evidence of a Struggle
Investigators reported overturned furniture, visible damage, and signs of a prolonged physical confrontation inside the home. Police said the condition of the residence showed the incident involved sustained force over time.
