The Nicest Actors in Hollywood (According To The Crews Who Worked With Them)

Lights, Camera, Kindness!

Hollywood has no shortage of giant personalities, but some stars manage to become famous without making everyone around them miserable. According to the crew members who spend long days beside them, these actors are the ones remembering names, chatting between takes, pitching in, and treating everyone on set like they matter. Their biggest fans might actually be the people working behind the camera. So forget the trophies for a minute. These are the stars quietly competing for Hollywood’s unofficial award for being genuinely great to work with.

Tom Hanks

Where else would a list like this start? No where.

There’s a reason he’s often called “America’s Dad.” Tom Hanks has earned a golden reputation for his respectful, friendly demeanor on set. Crew members say he treats everyone—from camera operators to caterers—with warmth and patience. One crew member even noted he’s “nice to everyone, especially the folks people tend to overlook.” Hanks sets the bar for Hollywood decency.

Keanu Reeves

Keanu’s kindness is legendary. He’s been known to buy Harley-Davidsons for his stunt team and take time to learn every crew member’s name. One viral story even tells of him waiting in the rain with a stranded fan. A crew member once said, “He’s humble, thoughtful, and never acts like he’s above anyone.” Hollywood's most low-key sweetheart.

Paul Rudd

Paul Rudd may be ageless, but he’s also endlessly kind. He’s described himself as “not particularly nice,” but crew members would disagree. He’s known for showing up on time, being respectful, and keeping things light on set. His Midwestern charm isn’t an act—he makes sure everyone feels like part of the team.

George Clooney

Despite his A-list status, Clooney is famously down-to-earth. Crew members say he keeps the vibe fun and professional—cracking jokes and making sure everyone feels seen. Whether he’s directing or acting, Clooney leads by example.

Hugh Jackman

Wolverine might have claws, but Hugh is all heart—and crews love him for it. Hugh Jackman is basically sunshine in human form. On set, he’s known for organizing coffee carts for the crew and remembering birthdays. A former crew member shared, “He makes the whole experience fun for everybody.”

Danny DeVito

Don’t let his height fool you—Danny DeVito has one of the biggest hearts in the biz. Crews say he’s approachable, hilarious, and always up for a laugh between takes. He treats everyone like family and makes sure the set feels more like a party than a workplace. A true fan favorite.

Kathy Bates

After decades in Hollywood, Kathy Bates has the kind of résumé that could justify a little ego—but apparently, she never got the memo. Crew members have praised her for being warm, professional, and thoughtful with the people around her, no matter their job on set. Better still, she’s said to be genuinely fun to work with, which makes her the rare legend people are just as happy to meet behind the camera as they are to watch on screen.

Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci might not be the loudest presence on set, but crews appreciate her quiet professionalism. She shows up prepared, treats everyone with respect, and keeps things drama-free (which, in Hollywood, is not that common). Over the years, she’s earned a solid reputation as someone who’s easy to work with and always courteous behind the scenes.

Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston’s charm isn’t just for red carpets. On set, he’s been called “the nicest guy on earth” by directors and crew alike. He makes an effort to connect with everyone, often asking crew members how their day’s going. Plus, he brings homemade treats to share. Yes, really.

Elisha Cuthbert

Known for her role in 24, Elisha Cuthbert once praised crews, saying, “There wasn’t a line between actors and crew—which I really appreciated.” And that attitude goes both ways. She’s earned praise for being approachable, gracious, and fully present on set. A quiet gem with a strong work ethic.

Val Kilmer

Val Kilmer may have played intense characters, but co-stars and crews remember him as thoughtful and nurturing. Hilarie Burton recalled how he made her feel “safe and cared for” on set. Drew Barrymore called him “kind and generous.” Behind the scenes, he’s known for building real relationships.

Spencer Tracy

One of Old Hollywood’s finest, Spencer Tracy set an early example of crew respect. Colleagues praised him for listening deeply and working collaboratively. Katharine Hepburn once noted he “listened better than anyone in motion pictures.” His legacy isn’t just talent—it’s decency.

Daniel Day-Lewis

Daniel Day-Lewis may be famous for disappearing completely into his characters, but off-camera, he reportedly leaves the intensity behind. Crew members have described him as quiet, thoughtful, and remarkably respectful, with none of the grandstanding you might expect from an actor of his stature. He makes a point of thanking the people around him, proving that even Hollywood’s most committed method actor knows exactly when to drop the act.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

He may look like a tank, but Dwayne Johnson is a teddy bear when it comes to crew interactions. He’s famous for learning names, handing out gifts, and checking in with everyone on set. One crew member said, “He treats you like you’re his equal.” That’s The Rock way.

Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds brings wit and warmth to his film sets. Crews love his sarcastic humor and laid-back nature. He often shouts out behind-the-scenes workers on social media, and he's been known to surprise crews with treats and bonuses. Working with him is apparently as fun as watching Deadpool.
